My name is Rosemary Chaney. I am an accredited member of the IACP since 2005. My particular specialisation is trauma support using the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy model — a body-based approach I trained in here in Ireland, taught by a team who came across from the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute in Boulder, Colorado.

I began my counselling training in 1997 and sat with my first clients as a student on placement in 2001. I qualified as a counsellor in 2003 through my Diploma in Counselling and worked as a pre-accredited therapist before becoming IACP-accredited in 2005. I qualified as a psychotherapist in 2007 with a BSc in Counselling & Psychotherapy from PCI College. I've been in continuous practice ever since — with individuals, couples, young adults, and colleagues in supervision, through the ordinary and the extraordinary events of a life.

My style is warm, thoughtful and pragmatic. I don't rush people. I take the time to understand what's happening for you before we talk about what might help. I bring a wide experience of people, issues and ways of approaching things — and, most importantly, a genuine belief that therapy works.

I trust in your ability to live your own life and make your own decisions — my focus is to help you put into words what is troubling you, and to find your own solutions.

I see clients in person in Gorey, Co. Wexford and in Dublin, and securely online across Ireland. If you'd like to talk about starting sessions, or you just have a question, please get in touch.
