# How we write and review our articles

The Counselling journal explains counselling and psychotherapy in plain language, for adults in Ireland deciding whether therapy could help.

## Who writes the articles

Articles are researched and written by Digital Bridge for RC Psychotherapy. Each article shows whether it has been clinically reviewed by Rosemary Chaney, an IACP-accredited counsellor and psychotherapist, and the date of that review.

## Where our information comes from

We use official and professional sources first: the HSE, CORU, the IACP and other Irish professional bodies, NICE, the World Health Organization and peer-reviewed research. Every fact and figure links to its source.

## How articles are checked

- AI tools help with research and drafting. A person checks every fact, figure, title, description and image description against the cited source before an article is published.
- Each article shows when it was published and when it was last updated. We only change those dates when the content really changes.
- Prices and schemes are rechecked when we update an article.

## What our articles are not

Articles are general information, not a diagnosis or personal advice. If you're worried about your mental health, talk to your GP. If you are in danger now, call 112 or 999. Samaritans: 116 123, free, day or night.
